Okinawan Childai

This album was composed for the feature film "Untama Giru" (1989, distributed by Parco), directed by Go Takamine, a filmmaker from Ishigaki Island, Okinawa. The music diverges from traditional Ryukyuan folk melodies to depict an atmosphere of intense languor and liberating scenery. It can be described as a piece of "Strange ambient music" portraying an imaginary Okinawa filled with aesthetic charm.
