Palomar

Palomar is the debut album by the eponymous Italian band founded by Francesco Panconesi, Marco Pasinetti, Iacopo Sichi, and Davide Strangio. The group, formed almost by chance in Siena in 2021, took shape naturally after long improvisation sessions, conversations about music, shared listening, and a shared curiosity that quickly translated into an intimate and personal musical language. Palomar, more than a stylistic manifesto, is a declaration of intent: to seek beauty in simplicity.

Their music occupies an open space, moving spontaneously through sonic practice without ever adhering, in an absolute sense, to a single, precise musical idiom.

Echoes of the new British rock of bands like Caroline, the cinematic tension of Italian groups like Calibro 35, contemporary avant-jazz, and the emotional architecture of post-rock groups like Sigur Rós can be heard. These influences become the coordinates of a musical territory shared by the band, in which moments of choral expansion, characterized by sonic stratifications, constantly dialogue with landscapes of extreme delicacy, where subtle gestures recall sounds from silence, giving life to an ever-changing narrative.
