Antwerp-based songwriter Noonzy (Arnaud Stockbroekx) began his music career in 2022 with his self-produced EP, ‘Post-it-tapes’, which earned him a spot in the finals of De Nieuwe Lichting a year later. In 2025, ‘Puppies’ ([PIAS] Recordings) was released, in which his style evolved toward larger, groovier electronic productions that gave his artistic identity an increasingly sharp edge. He now takes this a step further and bids farewell to his former DIY, lo-fi approach and making room for experimentation and a loss of control within an indie-pop framework.
His first studio album, Plan Is Bad, promises nothing less than that: a fascinating album that feels familiar but with plenty to discover - alternative indie-pop songs that, in collaboration with producer Nathan Jenkins, also known as Bullion (Ben Howard, Nilüfer Yanya, etc.), breathe new life into Noonzy.
His longstanding fascination with the musical creative process has culminated in an album characterized by the surrender to the magic of collaboration, in which his songs constantly nod to the conventions of feel- good tunes with an alternative edge, full of playful melodies, and lyrics that are both carefree and meaningful, emerging organically along the way.
Noonzy’s musical world is no longer just his own, but a whirlwind in which he changes positions from being the architect to slowly turning into a joyful visitor.
