Porgy & Bess was the third and final album collaboration between Ella Fitzgerald, Louis Armstrong and producer Norman Granz. Featuring songs from the George & Ira Gershwins opera, which was inspired by the DuBose Heyward play 'Porgy', it received both critical acclaim and commercial success internationally.
