Portuguesa

Portuguesa is the sixth studio album by Portuguese fado and jazz artist Carminho. It features 14 original traditional fado songs tracks, including several lyrics written by herself. In a quest to deepen her thinking on fado, Carminho explores various combinations within the canons, rethinking the form and moving like a fish in the water that is her own. About her new album Carminho tells us: “Portuguesa was ten days at the Namouche studio in Lisbon, in March 2022 and the two years that preceded them. I keep looking for the vertigo where I can find, with new combinations of the same matrix, my identity. It’s the story I’ve been writing, my origins, influences and the music I see myself in.”
