Title

Lloyd Charmers released Reggae Charmers in 1970. Born Lloyd Tyrell, Charmers had a successful career spanning some of Jamaica's most important musical periods.

Starting in the late '50s with Jamaican shuffle R&B and ska, he later contributed to the rocksteady and roots reggae scenes of the late '60s and early '70s. Charmers not only excelled as a vocalist but also as a session musician and producer. He began playing the piano in 1966 and soon formed his own band.

This band went on to back notable artists such as Ken Parker, Max Romeo, Pat Kelly, John Holt, and Slim Smith and the Uniques (Charmers also sang with the Uniques). Known for their raw and driving rhythms, Charmers and his band made a name for themselves in the music scene.

Reggae Charmers is a testament to Charmers' talent and influence in the reggae genre.
