Repeater Plus 3 Songs

Repeater is the second full-length release from the band Fugazi, available on CD with three extra tracks from Dischord 43 7".

The album builds on the strongest elements of '13 Songs', with a fierce set of songs that showcase the band's energy and aggression. The opening track, "Turnover", sets the tone with its ominous, slowly building sound, while other aggressive tunes like the title track and "Break-In" keep the momentum going.

The lyrics, delivered by co-frontmen Ian Mackaye and Guy Piccotto, hit hard with messages of anti-establishment sentiment. Tracks like "Merchandise" ("You are not what you own") and "Greed" ("You wanted everything/You needed everything") exemplify the band's direct approach.

Notable for its two instrumentals, 'Repeater' features the highly rhythmic "Brendan #1" and the almost jazzy "Joe #1", showcasing the band's unity, melody, and invention. These tracks set the stage for the instrumental elements that would become a consistent feature of subsequent Fugazi albums.
