Rose Delta Rising

For more than a decade, Nick Jonah Davis has made music that feels both deeply rooted and quietly untethered. Rose Delta Rising continues that journey, while opening his solitary guitar pieces to collaboration.

Supported by Arts Council England, Davis recorded at Black Bay Studio in the Outer Hebrides with Joe Danks, Neal Heppleston and Richard "Biff" Birkin, whose string arrangements reveal new dimensions without obscuring the music’s quiet heart. Gayle Brogan also contributes overdubs.

The album draws on older pieces, improvisation and patient refinement, and takes its title from a childhood memory of a pink delta kite rising from a lake. Released jointly by Cardinal Fuzz and Eiderdown Records, these recordings also stand as a tribute to Davis’s father, who died in 2020.
