Route 77

Mirror System is the chill-out orientated sister project of Steve Hillage and Miquette Giraudy's System 7. The Mirror System style features rolling grooves and a subtle blend of rich dreamy electronics and guitar, also incorporating a soft minimal tech-house element.

Route 77 is the third standalone Mirror System album, and the first studio release of any kind by Hillage and Giraudy since 2018’s Café Seven. A theme of the album is travel, and the wide open spaces and colors of the American South-West.

Route 77 features collaborations with The Orb’s Alex Paterson, Dan Donovan (of Big Audio Dynamite and Dreadzone) and Marv Brookes, and innovative cover versions of "Sunrain" by the late Manuel Göttsching and "Paris Texas" by Ry Cooder.

The end bonus track, "Sonora Desert Edge (The Abyss)," is Steve and Miquette’s adaptation of a recorded poem by Allen Ginsberg, which, with its vivid evocation of the Arizona desert, fits perfectly within the sound world of Route 77.
