new scorpion violente material is always avidly received around these parts and this self titled 12" on bruit direct disques is no exception. lead track 'rome violente' is something of a mission statement for the duo. simplistic, dry drum machines that shuffle into armageddon, ridden by sequenced bass lines ripped from the heart of a lost john carpenter film - 'escape from paris' perhaps? there's a delicious amount of searing noise and feedback that cloaks the changes at special points through out, building up to a superb minimal-maximal release that gets better with each listen.
