Light Conductor return with Sequence Three, their first album in five years and the final part of the trilogy that began with Sequence One in 2019. Co-founded by Stephen Ramsay of Young Galaxy and Jace Lasek of The Besnard Lakes, with Olga Goreas also involved, it’s another deep dive into longform psych-ambient drone.
Built from restored vintage synths and analogue gear, the record leans into tube compression, pink and brown noise, warped modulation, sparse beats and slow melodic lines. It draws together the spiritual drift of Spiritualized and Cluster with the weathered texture of William Basinski and GAS, while pushing further into the darker edge of the group’s sound.
Highlights include She Glitters The Dust, the vocal-led Omenize, the anxious pulse of Ghost City Radio, the ambient kosmische wash of High In The Orange Air, and the 15-minute closer Supercontinent. Released by Constellation, it also completes the label’s striking visual trilogy designed by co-founder Ian Ilavsky.
