since releasing 'story of sampling' and 'cissy strut' on redhook in 2001 and 2003 respectively, pablo has also released an album under his other guise, butch cassidy sound system. he also wrote and produced the theme tune and incidental music for rockstar's 'grand theft auto san andreas'. as the first of many forthcoming new releases on redhook, this three-track 12" is a taster from his eagerly-awaited album 'get some of this', released later in the year. 'sing' is a catchy vocal upbeat multi-layered breaks track, with a whitfield-era motown psychedelic sound. 'fairchild (live at the lab)' is a heavyweight funk track with drum breakdowns aimed directly at the dance-floor. 'record shop' is a cut-up hip-hop track, describing a typical day in the life of pablo.
