In 1990, Andrew Ridgeley finally released his debut album, Son of Albert. After Wham! broke up in 1986, his good friend George Michael became an internationally popular star. Ridgeley took a different path, moving to Monaco to start a career as an auto racer.
After four years, he returned with new music that sounded more refreshed than ever. The songs were clearly influenced by hard rock, and the result was different from the sound of Wham!
The single Red Dress was a big hit in the Australian charts, and Shake charted in the UK. Red Dress also featured backing vocals by George Michael. Now back on vinyl for the first time since release, the album includes two sides of extended and alternative tracks never before released on wax.
