Sundown on Venus

The Jet Black Berries came out of Rochester, NY, reshaping themselves from New Math in the mid-1980s with a darker, stranger, more expansive sound. Post-punk urgency meets roots-rock myth, psychedelic revival, rockabilly swing, western balladry, and sci-fi dread.

Recorded in just two days in August 1984, Sundown on Venus was released by Enigma/Pink Dust in 1985 after the reconfigured band signed with Enigma. The original release was complicated by a bonus 12-inch of extra tracks, including a song written for The Return of the Living Dead, covers, and re-recorded New Math songs.

This Sundown on Venus [Definitive Edition] restores the album as the band originally intended, newly remastered and on CD for the first time with 12 songs.
