The Jet Black Berries came out of Rochester, NY, reshaping themselves from New Math in the mid-1980s with a new name, a broader vision, and a sound that pushed past punk and new wave into something darker, stranger, and more expansive.

Recorded in two days in August 1984, Sundown on Venus [Definitive Edition] restores the album to the form the band originally intended in 1985, after the Enigma/Pink Dust release was expanded with a bonus 12-inch of extra tracks, including a song for The Return of the Living Dead, covers, and re-recorded New Math material.

Newly remastered and refocused across 12 songs, Sundown on Venus brings its dark narrative arc and wild blend of country-rock, rockabilly, western balladry, psych-punk, post-punk, goth, Americana, and sci-fi storytelling back into view.
