Tarkus is the second studio album by English progressive rock band Emerson, Lake and Palmer, released on 14 June 1971 on Island Records. Following their debut tour across Europe during the second half of 1970, the group paused touring commitments in January 1971 to record a new album at Advision Studios in London. Greg Lake produced the album with Eddy Offord as engineer.
2CD - Deluxe Edition of Emerson, Lake and Palmer’s 1971 sophomore album, Tarkus, featuring the 2012 remaster of the album, including the full suite of “Tarkus,” with improved sonic quality. A second disc offers an alternate version built from the 2012 Steven Wilson stereo mixes of the album, sequenced in album order and augmented with additional session tracks such as, “Oh, My Father,” “Unknown Ballad” and an alternate take of “Mass,” providing a broader view of the recording period.
