The legendary 1st wave R&B cult heroes’ final electric performance was recorded at the O2 Indigo London in December 2018. The event featured special guests David Gilmour and Van Morrison.
Celebrating 55 years of the greatest band most people have never heard of, ‘The Final Bow’ captures The Pretty Things at their rocking and unique, mercurial best. The album features 3 sets of classic tracks with special guest appearances from David Gilmour and Van Morrison.
This 2LP set includes a selection of the evening’s live recordings presented in a gatefold sleeve. The sleeve features photography from Judy Totton and printed inner bags with liner notes written by Phil May about his life as the frontman of the successful rock band.
The audio was recorded by Ben McCusker, mastered by Gwyn Mathias, and produced by Mark St. John.
The Pretty Things have been invaluable to the development of British music. They have been a critical success and a huge influence on artists such as David Bowie, Aerosmith, The Ramones, Bob Dylan, and many more. Their outrageous behavior, incandescent stage performances, and remarkable recordings have been fundamental in the creation of their own work. They continue to create significant music today with a rich catalog including albums like ‘Get the Picture ?’, ‘S.F. Sorrow’, and ‘Parachute’.
