Thomas Dolby is known for his soundtrack work, and The Gate To The Mind's Eye is no exception. In this album, Dolby showcases a variety of musical settings for a computer animation video.
The album includes a mix of moody electronic instrumentals, dance tracks, and even a '30s pop pastiche with a horn section. Five out of the nine tracks feature vocals, with two of them being contributed by Dr. Fiorella Terenzi. Dolby himself takes on singing and rapping duties in this eclectic collection of songs.
