The Last Stage 1983- 1985

The Last Stage gathers unreleased Budgie recordings, most of them drawn from the early-to-mid eighties. It is a fascinating snapshot of a band in transition, pulling together material that sat unheard for years and offering a deeper look at this overlooked period.

Many of these songs were originally lined up for the follow-up to 1982’s Deliver Us from Evil, an album that never saw the light of day. That backstory gives this collection real weight, capturing what might have been the next chapter for Budgie.

The song Beautiful Lies was also reportedly intended for that lost album, but never made the final cut. It had previously surfaced on the Budgie compilation An Ecstasy of Fumbling – The Definitive Anthology.
