From the original "Theme" to a series of appropriately revised standards by Duke Ellington, Benny Golson, and Isham Jones, this 1956 album—recorded by the late Rudy Van Gelder and released by Prestige—offered a synthesis of Miles's thinking, crystallizing one of the high points of the bop revolution.
