Philipp Johann Thimm releases his second solo album, The Red Door. The Berlin-based producer, multi- instrumentalist and ABBY band member boasts an impressive list of projects with outstanding colleagues, among whom his collaborations with Sascha Ring, aka Apparat, are undoubtedly some of the most prominent.

A classically trained cellist, Philipp was part of the string section on ‘The Devil's Walk’ tour and co-wrote / produced the albums ‘LP5’ (which received a Grammy nomination) and ‘Hum Of Maybe’.

The ten songs on The Red Door are multifaceted, moving between genres, opening up and breaking through musical spaces. Club tracks meet cello, indie meets pop, electronic production meets organic elements, and intimate snapshots like an old childhood cassette tape are all present. These elements combine particularly powerfully on stage - from festival grounds to club nights. Overall, the album revolves around love and affection, understanding and care.

The feature line-up kicks off with KOKA, born in Albania, raised in Berlin and classically trained in Athens. He’s followed by Berlin-based singers Jamal Dilmen and Raz Ohara. Also featured are Aska Matsumiya from LA, longtime friends Ela Puc and s.0.d (singer of the bands ABBY and GHEIST).The album was mixed by Samuel Wiese and Sascha Ring and mastered by Mike Grinser at Manmade Mastering. Released on the Berlin label Monkeytown on the recommendation of Sascha Ring and his manager, Daniel Meteo.
