Title

The Pretty Things, led by founding vocalist & guitarist Phil May & Dick Taylor, were iconic 1st wave R&B cult heroes who created some of the most exciting & innovative records of the sixties, early seventies & beyond.

Winners of the very first Mojo Hero Award, the band have been a massive success & a huge influence on artists as diverse as David Bowie, The Ramones, Bob Dylan, The Sex Pistols, The White Stripes & many more.

A thundering, potent set of songs, The Pretty Things' penultimate release was their first studio album in 7 years & involved a recording process as true as possible to their live sound & roots.

Recorded entirely on analogue tape with a Trident Series 80 mixing console, the recordings feature a vintage-edged, cool sound, much in line with their earlier works.

The album takes its title from the opening line of Bob Dylan's "Tombstone Blues" & is the first album by Phil May & Dick Taylor with their then touring bassist George Woosey & drummer Jack Greenwood & also their first without long-time keyboardist Jon Povey & drummer Skip Alan since 1965's "Get The Picture?".

"The Sweet Pretty Things (Are In Bed Now, Of Course...)" from legendary British rock band The Pretty Things is available on CD via Madfish.
