The fourth album from London multi-hyphenate artist Zoë Mead.
The term ‘The universe is loading’ popped into my head during the creative process for this record. I was reading a lot of space-related books, combined with gothic novels and the amalgamation of the two seemed fitting. Life, death, technology and nature all co-exising within one post-apocalyptic, dark pop album. I thought it was intriguing and resonated with the overall mood of the album and the song's meanings. It also evokes the notion of nature combining with the digital world (something visually I wanted to depict as part of this body of work). The term relates to the scientific concept of the universe's expansion. I feel like as creatures of the universe, we as humans adhere to the same laws of physics. We are constantly collecting new memories and experiences, but it is not always in a forward motion, sometimes life takes us into places we don’t expect. The record itself serves as a reminder that we need to embrace change, continue to learn and grow - like the universe.
