This release presents the complete original LP The World of Cecil Taylor (Candid 9006), which was the first album recorded by Cecil Taylor for the legendary Candid label. The group consists of the Cecil Taylor Trio, with Buell Neidlinger on bass and Dennis Charles on drums, plus Archie Shepp on tenor sax joining them on two songs. An extra song and two alternate takes from the same sessions have been added as a bonus.
