Hélène Breschand, the French harpist, composer and improviser, and Elliott Sharp, American composer, multi-instrumentalist, performer, author and visual artist, meet again on Chansons du Crépuscule, their second duo album after their 2014 self-titled debut.

Breschand moves between contemporary music, jazz, improvised music and musical theatre, while Sharp has been a key figure in New York’s avant-garde since the late 1970s, with more than eighty-five recordings spanning contemporary classical, free improvisation, no wave, noise and electronics.

This set leans into angular, hard-edged expressionism, marked by Sharp’s sonic alchemy and Breschand’s Dadaesque vocals, but the duo switch registers with real ease. That range is part of the appeal.

Includes Emergence, Addiction Or Confession, Une Lumiere Tenace, Sublimation, I Have Seen, Le Droit D'Etre, Au Fond Du Verre, Je Ne Me Souviens Plus, Si J'Etais Une Homme, Fingerprints and Les Mots Me Manquent.
