the wait is over..!k7 is very proud to present the next instalment in the dj-kicks series and we couldn't think of a better pairing. chromeo is canada's p-thugg and dave 1: best friends, virtuoso musicians, walking hip hop encyclopedias, and the only successful arab / jew partnership since ... well, ever. after releasing 2 albums ('she's in control' and 'fancy footwork'), hitting the dancefloors / attacking the charts with 'you're so gangsta' and 'needy girl', remixing the likes of cut copy and lenny kravitz, feist and vampire weekend, and years of jet setting and globetrotting ... the time is right for them doing their take on dj kicks. a match made in... teenage lovers, 20 something bloggers, 30 something burned out ex ravers and 40 something sistas can all finally party under one roof with this slick, sleek, smoothed out mix. a tribute to canada of sorts, as it includes so many maple leaf underground classics and obscurities. obviously there are some unreleased versions (chateau marmont most notably) and of course the dj-kicks exclusive track, with chromeo fucking around with the eagles classic 'i can't tell why' which comes in 2 versions. it also features kano, leo sayer, donna allen, lifelike, val young etc.
