Mr Bongo presents this amazing 2LP collection of tracks from the Fania label and their first ever remixes. It contains sought-after and sold-out 12" singles, featuring remixes by contemporary heavyweights such as Gilles Peterson, DJ Format, Louie Vega, Bugz in the Attic, and many more.

Like many American stories, the tale of Fania comes from the boroughs and inner city barrios of New York City. Fania artists mixed a variety of styles that transcended traditional Latin music boundaries, setting the path for genres like salsa, boogaloo, Latin R&B, and Afro-Cuban jazz.

Gilles Peterson offers a mix of Nora Morales, while Brazil's electronic trio Funk Carioca outfit Bonde de Role adds their touch. Hip hop pioneer DJ Format produced a mix of Dave Cortez, a previously sold-out 12". Louie Vega remixed Hector Lavoe in an 11-minute re-work, and 4 Hero produced a beautiful remix of Ralfi Pagan in their unique style.
