Title

willkommen to the second installment of 'the in kraut'. once again marina take a deep trip into the funky musical spheres of 1960s and 1970 germany - an undiscovered universe full of hammond-heavy grooves, tight big band arrangements and fuzz guitar enhanced dancefloor nuggets. dip into a motherlode of 20 rare soul, beat, now sound, mod and soundtrack gems. check out hugo strasser, germany's first ambassador of swing, covering deep purple - a truly rocking cover version of 'black night'. or the way cool hazy osterwald jet set praise the merits of 'swinging london' - a fabulous uptempo stomper sounding almost like acid jazz veterans corduroy. even james last, germany's bestselling music export ever, got funky once(!) with his incredible soul march, a rare b-side from 1969 (finally rescued from oblivion here). wunderbar! even the legendary can, germany's most influential and groundbreaking band along with kraftwerk, make an appearance, their very first recording (!) - a super-rare soundtrack 7" recorded under the name the inner space (issued just before can's debut album). their trippy 'kamera song' is highly reminiscent of the velvet underground circa sunday morning. the spacy ersatz-nico vocals were supplied by rosy rosy, munichs original it-girl and german ber-groupie of the 60s.
