Vertical Land

David John Sheppard (Ellis Island Sound / Snow Palms) releases his first solo album. The record entitled 'Vertical Land' is inspired by Sheppard's travels in summer / autumn 2013 whereby he found himself, serendipitously, in a series of awe-inspiring mountainous landscapes around the globe (in Southern Africa, northern Norway and among the volcanic Cyclades islands of Greece, to be specific), enjoying the feeling of awe that arises when flying over, or walking across huge land masses and "feeling like a tiny atom, an insignificant part of the vast material of the world."
