The 30th Anniversary Edition of Weekend reissues one of the defining albums of the German post-reunification generation of electronically influenced independent music .

When the album was released in 1996, it marked a decisive turning point for Kreidler: For the first time, the Düsseldorf group combined the diverse influences of electronica, post-rock, krautrock , and improvised music into a unique artistic language. Originating from live improvisations and largely recorded directly in the studio, Weekend developed a remarkable naturalness and dynamism that has lost none of its impact to this day.

National and international media celebrated the album as an important contribution between club culture and experimental rock music , while the title "Reflections" brought the band greater attention for the first time.
