Collection: Luaka Bop

Luaka Bop is the New York label founded by David Byrne, best known for bringing singular records and overlooked catalogues into wider view. Since the late 1980s it has helped reintroduce artists including Os Mutantes, Shuggie Otis, Tim Maia and William Onyeabor, often framing those rediscoveries with the kind of context that sends listeners further in.

Its catalogue has never sat still. Alongside deep archival work, Luaka Bop has released music by artists such as Floating Points, Tom Zé, Janka Nabay, Delicate Steve and Los Amigos Invisibles. Previously associated with Warner Bros, Narada, Virgin, EMI and V2, it has operated independently since 2006.
